SONIC BLOSSOM Lee Mingwei

  • Museum of Fine Arts, William I. Koch Gallery Avenue of the Arts Boston, MA, 02115 United States (map)

Teresa is honored to have been selected to perform Lee Mingwei: SONIC BLOSSOM, the US debut. World-renowned artist, Lee Mingwei, presents the first on-going performance art piece that the MFA has ever produced, featuring some of the most beloved of all of Schubert's art songs. There has been much press about the project. See some feature articles and video featuring Teresa's performance and interviews with the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald, here.

What to expect: In the William I. Koch Gallery, as patrons enjoy the artwork, the Singer will wander among them. She will select a museum patron, and ask if they would like to receive a gift of song. If they agree, they will be led to a special chair designed by the artist, and the Singer will perform one of five Schubert lieder for the guest. SONIC BLOSSOM was inspired by a time when the artist's mother was ill, when the songs of Schubert were especially calming and healing during her recovery. Lee Mingwei has made a name for himself with his intelligent and moving art installations, which bring connectedness to the viewer and celebrate the human spirit.

Teresa will be the soloist during these times:
